Elgin, IL – October 24, 2016: Fabric Images®, a global manufacturer of printed and non-printed tension fabric architectural solutions, was awarded two International Achievement Awards during the Industrial Fabrics Association annual conference. The awards were announced in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 20th.

Intralot London Iconic Pavilion and First Ascent ceiling canopy

Winning the Award of Excellence in the Commercial Interiors category, the highest award in a category, is the First Ascent topographical ceiling cloud. Designed and manufactured by Fabric Images, the ceiling cloud, which is a topographic representation of the Red River Gorge in Kentucky, covers roughly 654 square feet, carves out volume, lowers the ceiling and creates a barrier to control acoustics.

Additionally, Fabric Images was awarded with Outstanding Achievement in the Interior Display category for the Intralot London Iconic Pavilion tension fabric petals, a collaboration between Lianou Chalvatzis Architects (LC-A), BuroHappold Engineers, London, and Fabric Images Europe. The petals stand 17 feet in height and cantilever up to 32 feet, while remaining completely floor supported. As stated by Natassa Lianou, Director / Architect with Lianou Chalvatzis Architects (LC-A), London, the designing architect, “The pavilion was impressive and our design was transferred with the best way possible. The client was very happy and everyone in the exhibition were amazed and could not believe that we made it. It was a very challenging and innovative design that [Fabric Images Europe] made it real. We had a great collaboration and we are looking forward to our next joint adventures.”
